Biography

A native of Almaty, Temirzhan Yerzhanov studied since his early years at the Central Music School in Moscow and graduated from the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, having studied with Professor Mikhail Voskressensky.

He was a faculty member of his alma mater for four years before moving to the USA in 2002. Gaining an immediate respect there, Temirzhan Yerzhanov was awarded by San Francisco Classical Voice ‘Best Performance of 2007’ title as the only instrumental soloist along with San Francisco Opera and soprano Angela Gheorghiu, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, Mark Morris Dance Group, Artemis Quartet and Medieval Trio. Con Brio Recordings label released a new CD, featuring Prokofiev’s Cinderella-Suites and World recording premiere of Classical Symphony, favorably welcomed by several reviews.

His recent and upcoming engagements include concerts in Irvine, San Francisco, Fraureuth, Cambridge University, Carnegie Weill Recital Hall, Moscow Conservatory, Almaty Philharmonic Hall, Schultz Cultural Arts Center in Palo Alto, San Francisco State University, concertos with Diablo Symphony, Kyrgyz National Orchestra, The Kazakh Philharmonic Orchestra and Vogtland Philharmonie.

In 2010, as part of International Musical Collection Festival under artistic leadership of Yury Temirkanov, Mr. Yerzhanov played a recital honoring the

200th anniversary of Schumann and Chopin at the St. Petersburg Grand Philharmonic Hall, a Russian stage that witnessed the geniuses of Liszt, Wagner, Berlioz, C.Schumann, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and many more.

This year he was awarded the highest Honored Title in his native country for his national contribution and co-founded as an Artistic Director a new emerging music organization Gloria dell’Arte in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Temirzhan Yerzhanov currently resides in Los Gatos, CA.
